👋Hey Friends!
Welcome to “Not So Secret”.
In this post, we gonna explore the myths of time management.
Myths of time management
Myth 01: I don’t have time
We can say this as a universal lie of (un)productive people. we own our time, the time is in our control. For instance, you got a couple of things to get done, you captured it, clarified, organized, your pilot is ready to take off the plane, but you negotiated to watch the new season of Money Heist on Netflix, after watching, its time to go to bed and you realized that you didn’t complete the work, when you boss, or teacher if you are a student, your excuse will be like this: “Sorry sir, I didn’t had time to complete my work”. that’s a lie. You decided to watch Netflix over completing your work. You own your time, that was your decision. Everyone has the same 24 hrs, Elon Musk, Bill Gates, Jeff Bezos, even we and you, the point is how we use it wisely. so choose what to do.
Myth 02: I need motivation
If something is important enough, do it even if the odds are not in your favor – Elon Musk (G.O.A.T)
One of my favorite quotes from Elon Musk. A year ago I learned a mental model about the motivation that is “Motivation is just a feeling which doesn’t last”. Feelings are an unreliable way to get anything done, they change moment to moment. Let’s look at this,
Unproductive People’s Perspective on Motivation:
You have a thought that you wanna get the project done. But you need something to kick start you to begin the work. here the mighty motivation comes. He gives you x units of motivation for hours of work which is not enough. That’s where the graph of endurance decreases. and finally, the work is not completed.
Productive People’s Perspective on Motivation:
Well, the mighty motivation gives you insufficient units of motivation, but “Self-Discipline” gives you sufficient power where you directly go from thoughts to action and get the stuff done regardless of how you are feeling because you know that “we got this”.
If you need to get started with a thing, the only thing we need is self-discipline, not motivation, because Motivation is a myth.
So Thank you for Reading, Stay Productive.
